ZWOW #19

Hello,


So after a few days off I finally got around to doing ZWOW #19! It was so hard!! I am totally feeling it today in my legs. Right after the workout I went downstairs to do laundry and I could barely walk down the steps! LOL.

The workout consists of:
10 Water Bottle Cleans
10/10 Pistol Squats
10 Water Bottle Push Ups
10/10 Russian Twists
10/10 Hip Twists
10 Hollow Rocks
5 Rounds for time


5 Rounds!!!! I did it. It was tough. By the 3rd round, I was doing the first five push ups normal and the other five on my knees. By the 5th round, I was doing them all on my knees. haha! I finished the whole workout in 30 minutes and 40 seconds.

Beating My Personal Best ZWOW #12

Hello! 


Just updating you on the last workout I did. Last Wednesday I did the ZWOW #12 in hopes of beating my personal best.

The workout consisted of:

10 Pistol Squats
20 Low Jacks
10 Dynamite Burpees
20 Low Jacks
As many rounds as you can in 10 minutes



Last time, I was able to get through 3 full rounds. This time I got through 3 rounds and I was about half way done with my 4th round of  Pistol Squats when my timer went off. Yay! I got a little further than last time!

This was the last workout I did. :( I was busy Thursday night and was unable to do a workout. Friday we left to go on a camping trip and did not get back until tonight. So! Tomorrow is a new day! I can't wait to do  the new ZWOW! Talk to you all tomorrow!

Beating My Personal Best ZWOW #11

Hello everyone!


So sorry I've been slacking on my blog posts. I was out of town for two weekends in a row and the weekdays have been crazy! This week is going to be even more crazy because Presley starts her dance rehearsals! But I'll try my best!


Anyway, I just wanted to update you on the last couple of workouts I did. I mentioned in my last blog entry that I did ZWOW #10. I did beat my personal best but I don't remember by how much and I didn't take pics. LOL. This is how busy I was!


So that brings us to ZWOW #11. I did this on Tuesday evening last week. Here is the link to the workout:

This workout consisted of:
10 Mule Kicks
10 Sumo Push Ups
20 Side Jump Lunges
As many rounds as you can in 10 minutes.


I did 4 full rounds and I had just finished my 5th round of Mule Kicks when my timer went off. The last time I did this, I got through 4 full rounds and was finishing my 5th round of Sumo Push Ups. So I did not beat my time BUT this time I was able to do all rounds of push ups without going onto my knees. Last time I had to go onto my knees by the 3rd round. So that easily could have taken more time.

ZWOW #18

Hey everyone!


I've been so busy lately that I haven't got a chance to blog. So here it is. :) On Monday night I did ZWOW #18. It was BRUTAL!

This workout consisted of:
5/5 Burpee Step Ups
15/15 Round Kick Back Lunge
20 Inverted Leg Extensions
30 Tricep Dips
5 Rounds for time


Well, I got through 3 rounds in 23 minutes and I thought I might just drop over dead. Haha! It was so hard. I modified the Inverted Leg Extensions by doing them on the ground instead of on a chair. I just didn't have the strength to do it the other way. The tricep dips were SO hard!! After the 3rd round I realized that this workout was going to take forever and I absolutely needed to mow the grass before dark. haha! I know this sounds like a cop out but I quit after the 3rd round and I'm ok with that. After watching Zuzana's full video, I see that after the 3rd round she was ready to be done too, so I don't feel so bad. Next time, I'll be sure to do all 5 rounds. I do feel good about working hard and giving it my all for a full 23 minutes! Anyway, here are some pictures of me doing the exercises.

Update! I'm Engaged!!!

Well, hello there.


That's right...After almost 5 1/2 years Jim finally popped the question. It was sooo romantic too! I'd love to write it all on here but I'm going to make a video instead. I'll link it when it is done. So, so happy!


So last week I fell behind a bit. I did not keep up with my journal towards the end of the week because my mom and dad were in town and I didn't exactly eat well. Then, this weekend, my mom and I took a road trip to Cashton, WI. We stayed at a B&B and had a fantastic time in Amish country. Again, I didn't eat the best. Amish baked goods. Need I say more?


So today, I am starting anew. I did manage to do ZWOW #10 on Thursday and I beat my personal best! By how much? I don't remember. Ugh.


Since Mondays are my weigh in days, I was a bit nervous to get on my scale. But I didn't gain any weight! Woo hoo!! Still at 148 lbs. I will be back to working out and posting my food journal entries this week. Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I know I did. I can't stop staring at this ring on my finger!! :)

Food Journal (5-15-12)

We were pretty much on the go all day and evening so this is how I managed:


8:10 
16 oz. Coffee w/skim milk

9:00
1 bowl of Kashi Go Lean Cereal w/ skim milk



11:15
Grilled chicken Ceaser salad from McDonald's (blah. The only choice I had at the time)


2:30
Tall Skinny Vanilla Latte (Starbucks)


3:30
1/2 Cup of low fat cottage cheese


5:00
6 inch Turkey sandwich on flat bread w/ lettuce, green peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, black olives, light mayo, salt and pepper

Sour Cream and onion Pringles!!! GAh!! I don't even know how many...not a lot but still!! My parents came home from Florida and we were visiting so I cheated...and get this..I had 1/2 of a Coca Cola. :( I haven't had soda in months! 


I also only drank two full 24 oz. cups of water all day. :( 


Anyway. No big deal. lol. I was not able to do a workout though so that kinda sucks. :( Doing one tonight for sure since I've taken two days off! Take care!

Food Journal (5-14-12)

Good morning!


Monday mornings are busy for me. I do not have daycare kids until noon so I volunteer in the morning at my girls' school. I start in Peyton's class room and then go to Presley's classroom. Its so cool to see them interacting with other kids and the teacher! On normal days I don't eat breakfast until I get back from dropping them off. I'm just not an early breakfast eater. What I'm getting at is I skipped breakfast. GASP! I tried not to pig out the rest of the day after skipping it, but I did have a late night snack. Just an itty bitty one. :) 


Here's what I ate!


12:30
Turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread w/spicy sweet mustard
Veggie mix (leftover from the night before: mushrooms, orange and yellow peppers, zucchini, and squash)
1 Cup of low fat cottage cheese (have you caught on that I LOVE cottage cheese yet? lol)


3:15
1 Serving reduced fat Wheat Thins (15 crackers)
1 20 oz. coffee w/skim milk (no sugar)


6:30
2 Tuna Pita halves (Whole wheat pita and tuna mixed with light mayo and chopped zucchini)
1/2 Cup low fat cottage cheese (again)
1 Serving reduced fat wheat thins
1 fat free yogurt


9:00
1 Fiber One bar
1 Cup of herbal tea


I also drank 4 full 24 oz. cups of water!


I'm going grocery shopping today and am running out of ideas. My meals are all starting to look the same. If anybody has some good, healthy recipes to share or know of a good website to find some, let me know! Thanks! Have a great day!

6 Week Weigh In and Before/After Pics!

Today is the day! 


2 weeks ago when I took pictures I was disappointed. I didn't see much change in my body from my 2-4 week pictures. But today is a different story. In order to not bombard you with pictures I'm only going to show the before and today's pictures. Its nice to see the process, though, so let me know if you'd rather I post all of them again.

I am SO happy with my results. At my last weigh in I was really excited because I had gone from 150 lbs. to 139 lbs. in a week. It was my first week dieting and I had really worked my butt off. I seriously thought something was wrong with my scale. But after weighing and re weighing myself it was still the same. I've read  that can happen when you have a drastic change in diet. But now, today, I weighed myself and I'm at 148 lbs. It makes me wonder if there really was something wrong with my scale. LOL. I have no idea. I'm stumped. When I weighed myself this morning I was a little discouraged, but after taking the pics and seeing the huge difference I don't even care! What matters is that I'm losing inches and gaining muscle tone. I'm actually losing those pockets of cellulite under my butt!!!! I'm definitely going to keep going and I hope you will follow me on this amazing journey. Thank you all for your support. Talk to you tomorrow!

ZWOW #9 and Food Journal (5-13-12)

Good day!


I did ZWOW #9 yesterday hoping to beat my personal best but I came up with the same results. :) Oh well. Here is the link to the workout:

10 3-Pike Plyo Tucks
30 Crab Toe Touches
20 Low Jacks
As many rounds as you can in 10 minutes.


I did 2 and 1/2 rounds. Same as last time. :) I'm still happy with that though. 


And here is what I ate yesterday!

1 Bowl of Total cereal w/sliced bananas and skim milk (This was brought to me in bed for Mother's day along with 2 pieces of jelly toast. I let Peyton eat my toast. haha.)

3 Cups of coffee w/vanilla soy milk (Hey, it was a lazy Sunday.)

Whole wheat pita pocket w/turkey, light mayo and tomato
1 Cup low fat cottage cheese
10 Black berries

1 Serving (15 crackers) Zesty Salsa Wheat Thins

1 Cup herbal tea

1 Fat free yogurt
1 Banana

2 Soft shell turkey tacos (made with lean ground turkey and whole wheat tortillas) with lettuce, black olives and salsa
1 Serving whole grain, brown and wild rice
1 Serving of veggies (Mushrooms, orange and yellow peppers, zucchini and squash)


I also managed to drink 3 full 24 oz. cups of water.

Food Journal (5-12-12)

We were on the go yesterday. We are celebrating Mother's Day all weekend! :) We decided to go to a park off of Lake Michigan. We went on a nature hike and made up a list of things to find for our nature hunt. We also had a Subway picnic. :) It was so much fun! 



 So here is what I ate!


9:30
2 Cups coffee w/vanilla soy milk
1 Bowl of Total Raisin Bran w/soy milk


1:00
6 inch Turkey sub on flat bread w/lettuce, green peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, black olives, light mayo, salt and pepper (Subway)
1 Serving of Chex Mix
1 Fiber One bar
1 Naked brand blueberry smoothie drink


5:00
1/3 of flat bread sub (haha. This was what was left over of Peyton's sub. I was starving at this point so I scarfed it down in the car. I was not happy with myself. LOL)


8:30
(Super late dinner!)
1 Pork Steak w/A1 steak sauce
1 Corn on the cob
2 servings of fresh, cooked green beans
1 serving of mixed fruit (Grapes, banana, black berries)


11:00
1/2 Cup of Low fat cottage cheese (Gah! Up late and huge craving. I suck.)


So not the best diet but I was very active so hopefully that made up for it. We did the hike and I did ZWOW #17 when I got home. Anyway, like I always say, today is a brand new day to do a better job! Take care! Happy Mother's Day!
